Saturday, Sunday and other day rates
A day rate pays every hour on chosen days at a higher rate, such as Sundays at double time.
Setting it up
Go to Jobs, tap your job, then tap Contract rules.
Tap Add a rule and choose Day rate (such as Sundays).
Set the Multiplier, such as 2 for double time or 1.5 for time and a half.
Under Applies when, tap Days and choose the days, such as Sun.
Tap Add, go back, and tap Save on the job.
If your contract pays Saturdays at a different rate, add a second day rate for Saturdays.
Suggested image: a Sunday day rate at 2× with "Whole shift if it starts on these days" turned on.
Night shifts: paying the whole shift by the day it starts
If you work nights, turn on Whole shift if it starts on these days when your contract pays a shift by the day it began.
Example: a Sunday night shift from 9:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at $39.51, with Sundays at 2×:
Off: only the 3 hours before midnight count as Sunday. You're paid 3 hours at $79.02 and 2.5 hours at your regular rate.
On: all 5.5 hours are paid at $79.02, so $434.61.
When rates overlap
If a day rate and overtime both apply to the same hours, the setting When multipliers overlap, under How rules combine in Contract rules, decides what you're paid. Highest wins pays the higher of the two, which is how most contracts work.
Good to know
On the Clock screen, the day's rate is highlighted from the moment you clock in.
A call-in on a Saturday or Sunday is topped up at that day's rate. See "Call-out minimums."
